I ordered the TLC Black Leather trench coat because I liked the ad. I’ve had several leather coats before and like them because I wear them a lot, and they get a worn look over time. I liked this one because it seemed like a lighter alternative to my leather winter jacket. It’s not lined, so it’s light and stylish. I’m a large guy (3X size), so heavier leather usually means a really heavy coat! The ad said this coat would last long, and the pictures looked good. When I unpacked it, I noticed scratches on the back of the leather. They weren’t small marks that could be rubbed out but deep scratches. Usually, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but it was disappointing right out of the bag. The bigger problem was that the coat said it was 3X size, but I couldn’t close it, and the arms were too tight. I gave it to my wife, who is between medium and large size, and it was just a little too big for her. I recommend ordering the jacket at least 1-2 sizes larger than your usual size. No larger sizes are available, so if you’re a 3X, this might not work for you.

I wouldn’t call this a “trench coat” because a regular trench coat is usually much longer, reaching below the knees. But that doesn’t mean this 3/4 length leather coat isn’t great! The stitching is top quality, the lambskin leather feels really nice, and the lining is good. This men’s leather coat is made really well overall. The sleeves are wide enough so you can wear gloves or check your watch without having to unbutton the wrist. It’s very warm, even in strong winds. The collar is big enough to pull up and cover your neck when it’s windy and cold. I bought an XL based on the chart on Amazon, but it’s a bit small for me. My measurements were close to the top end of the XL size, so I wish I had ordered a 2XL. Just keep that in mind if you decide to buy it. I highly recommend it!

The inside of the coat and the sleeves are lined with a thin, quilted insulating material. It’s described as a trench coat but shorter than expected – it only goes down to the hips. It’s very light, weighing only 2 lbs, so it’s not really a winter coat. Some pictures on the Amazon listing show zippers, but this coat only has buttons. I found the buttons hard to use because they fit tightly in the holes. The coat has three pockets: two on the outside and one inside. None of the pockets have buttons or zippers, and the outside pockets aren’t very deep, so things like keys, phones, or wallets could fall out easily. The main problem I had with this coat was the wrong sizing. I have a 40” chest, and the large (42-43”) size was too small for me. The Amazon listing now suggests ordering a size 6” bigger. In summary, the coat is well-made but shorter than expected, too light for winter, and the sizing is confusing. It’s not cheap, and I think there are better options for the price.
